Busy First Day

Posted Date: 08/26/2025

Dear Weston High School Students, Staff, and Families,

Thank you all for a busy and energizing start to the school year! It was wonderful to welcome our seniors in their traditional shirts, gathered bright and early to kick off their final year. With student government greeting everyone with munchkins, the 2025-26 school year was quickly underway.

We began the day together with a brief PACT Google Meet where I shared expectations around our cell phone-free pilot for this quarter, an important step in supporting focus, learning, and connection. Students then met their teachers during shortened class periods, enjoyed lunch and PACT, and attended class meetings. After a few more shortened classes, the first day was already in the books!

During the class meetings, we reviewed important safety and security procedures, including reminders to keep exterior doors closed and to always enter and exit through the main entrance. We also emphasized our attendance practices, highlighting the importance of regular, on-time attendance. Students were reminded of the consequences for tardiness and the documentation required if they leave in the middle of the school day during a scheduled class period: absences must be pre-approved by school administration or accompanied by a provider’s note in order to be excused.

Students received a lot of information, all with the best of intentions: to ensure we are aligned, to foster a caring and respectful school environment, and to set the foundation for a successful year at Weston High School. We know that some schedules are still being finalized, and we appreciate your patience as adjustments are made. Student voice is an important part of that process, and we value the conversations that help shape schedules in these early days.

We also recognize that our phone lines have been inconsistent, and our IT Department is continuing to work on the issue. We know this can be frustrating, and we truly appreciate your patience and understanding.

I am grateful for the enthusiasm and collaboration that made the first day such a success. I look forward to all that we will accomplish together this year.

Kindly,
Meghan Conetta
