Dear WHS Students and Families,

We are so excited to welcome you to the 25-26 school year. As you enter the building tomorrow morning we will be outside greeting you and reminding you to put your cell phones away :) We want to create the optimal environment for you to be present and take in all of the moments of your high school experience. There will be so many opportunities for you to get involved and this can often start in a simple hallway conversation. Be curious and be open. We encourage you to think about something new you might be willing to try.

Tomorrow is an 8-period day. We will start the day in PACT, where I will discuss our plan for cell phones. I know I've communicated this in letters this summer, but a quick Google Meet into all of our PACT classrooms will help clarify the expectations. PACT teachers will also have a copy of their students' schedules in case anyone forgets it.

From there you will go to a few of your classes, meet your teachers and begin building those important relationships.

During our lunch block students will rotate in their grade groups through a Class Meeting, PACT, and lunch. During our class meetings we'll clarify more expectations, review our safety drills, and discuss our opening Trojan Kickoff pep rally. Here is a copy of the 8 Period First Day Schedule. It is a busy day, we communicate a lot of information, and these meetings are really necessary. Then students will travel to their last few classes.

Our focus this year is on belonging. Ensuring that each student has a trusted adult in the building that they can turn to when needed. We also want to support our students in taking responsibility and being accountable for their decisions. Our partnership with students and families is what makes Weston High School so special.

We are looking forward to a great year filled with new experiences and relationships, while maintaining the traditions that have guided WHS through the years.

We can't wait to see you! Get a good night's rest and we'll see you in the morning!

Kindly,

Ms. Conetta
