Dear Class of 2029 Students and Families,

We are excited to welcome you to our 9th Grade Orientation tomorrow morning from 9am to 1pm in the Weston High School New Gym. Students should be dropped off at our athletics entrance entering through the Weston Intermediate School entrance and driving down the access road between the two schools.

This is an orientation for our 9th grade students only. A special thank you to Ms. Mattera-Arcamone and Ms. Roehl for coordinating this event. They are also the advisors of our Link Crew Program. Link Crew provides opportunities for our 11th and 12th grade Link Leaders to connect with our 9th graders, answer their questions, and serve as mentors throughout the school year.

Link Leaders will continue their relationships with 9th graders as they are paired with 9th grade PACTs. PACT is our school-wide advisory program. PACT stands for Positively Achieving Community Together. PACT meets every Wednesday for 30 minutes mid morning in our school schedule. The intention of PACT is to provide another constant in our students’ lives at Weston High School. Students’ PACT advisor stays with them for all four years.

During PACT students build connections with each other and their advisor. This is also an opportunity for our Counseling Department to provide students with valuable information and resources appropriate to each grade level. As students age into high school they will spend more time evaluating how they have exemplified the traits of our Portrait of the Graduate as well: Thinking Critically, Communicating with Purpose, Expressing Creativity, Solving Problems, Taking Care of Others, and Taking Care of Self.

We are excited to welcome the Class of 2029 to Weston High School. Your high school experience has so much to offer. Over the next four years you will have many opportunities to join and be a part of this amazing community. We are looking forward to getting to know you and seeing how you discover who you are throughout your high school journey!

See you in the morning!

Kindly,

Ms. Conetta
