The Week Ahead 6/8/25

Posted Date: 06/08/2025

June 8, 2025

We are officially heading into our last week of school and what a year it has been! I want to thank all of the students and parents who have gotten involved in our committees and decision making at the high school this year. Our goal is to continue to put student voice and wellbeing at the forefront of our decision making while supporting our teachers as we continue to support a school environment where all students develop a character driven approach to our day to day activities and expectations.

As we wrap up the school year, I want to wish our students a summer that brings rest, joy, and a chance to breathe deeply. They’ve worked hard through classes, projects, performances, and everything in between and deserve time to relax, sleep in, laugh with friends, and enjoy the freedom of summer days.

Please don’t let the summer pass you by without a little challenge, too. Try something new that stretches you: a job, a book, a hike, a difficult conversation, or a creative project that scares you just a little. Growth doesn’t take the summer off. And while you're at it, find a way to give something back. Whether it's through volunteering, helping a neighbor, or simply being a kinder, more present version of yourself, small acts of commitment to others matter. They shape who we become.

We’ll be here cheering you on, and we can’t wait to see the ways you return in the fall, hopefully rested, recharged, and ready to take on what’s next!

Cell Phones

We held our third Cell Phone Free Friday this past week. Again we were impressed by the grace with which our students navigated these pilot days. Our hope is to create a school day free from Snapchat & TikTok notifications, free from unwanted distractions, and safe in knowing that photos and videos are not being taken. More to come on the cell phone dilemma in high school.

NHS Extra Help Session for Finals

Students in the National Honor Society will be hosting extra help sessions beginning this week. The sessions take place in the library after school. We encourage freshman and sophomores in particular to take advantage of these extra help sessions!

  • Wednesday, 6/11: all subjects

Final Exams and End-of-Year Planning
We are in the home stretch, and students should continue reviewing exam schedules and preparing for final assessments. We have released our finals schedule after taking feedback from our new midterm schedule this year. Please print this out and post in a prominent place in your home. FINALS SCHEDULE

  • We have adjusted our review days (June 6 & 11) to include a half day of classes followed by what we call FLEX time, where students can schedule themselves into extra help with their teachers in the specific classes they need more targeted help in.

  • Buses will run at 11:45am during the review days and final exam days.

  • Students may also take the bus home at 2:30 on the review days or finals days as the middle school buses continue to run.

  • Please be aware that the last couple of days of school the middle school has early dismissals.

  • Limited lunch options will be served on the review days. Lunch is not served on final exam days.

  • We encourage students to stay in school for Flex Time and get extra help from their teachers.

Class of 2026

Calling all Weston High School Students! Release some of that anxiety and stress during finals week and come on down to the class of 2026-sponsored pickleball tournament! When? June 12 from 1-3 pm. Where? The courts behind the track. Why? Well... the prize is $100 and a legacy to last a lifetime.

Spots are limited, so be the first to sign up by scanning the QR Code or filling out this form: https://forms.gle/kVpkGVyerX9y1UR6A

Seniors: Post Graduation Event

Every year our WHS PTO hosts a safe and fun graduation night. Our amazing PTO Class of 2025 volunteers put together a secret tour on luxury coach buses. Seniors are able to spend one last night together as a class, remember all of the good times throughout their years and celebrate the future ahead of them. Please see the flyer and QR code to the right or go to the PTO Website HERE to purchase tickets. Buses depart WHS at 8:30pm on the night of graduation, June 13th!

Yearbooks

Yearbooks have been distributed to students in grades 9-11 this past week during lunch waves. If a 9th-11th grader has not yet picked up their yearbook they should go to the main office this week to get it.  Senior yearbooks will be distributed at the senior banquet on June 12th. Thank you to Mrs. Ames and all of our student staff members. It is a beautiful book that reflects all of the amazing things we’ve experienced this year, from Pep Rallies to athletic events, dances and club events. Our students are busy and involved and we love it!

Class of 2025 Flowers for your Graduate

Weston High School is hosting a flower bouquet sale for the 2025 Graduation.  Parents, grandparents, or friends of the graduate can place an order and pick up their flowers on the evening of Graduation from the flower booth onsite.  Weston will receive 25% of pre-sale orders.  Support your school one last time and purchase beautiful flowers for your graduate!

PTO Brick Fundraiser

Commemorate a student’s graduation or honor a teacher or administrator who has gone above and beyond.  When you select a class during your purchase that class receives a portion of the proceeds which will help offset the cost of end of the year celebrations like Post-Grad Event for your class.  Buy a Brick - Leave a Legacy.  Click here to purchase.

Communication Protocol

Please remember we have a Communication Protocol to help you navigate the common occurrences in the daily lives of students, families, and staff. For many of your concerns, this protocol will let you know how to proceed.
