The Week Ahead 5/25/25

Posted Date: 05/25/2025

May 25,25

Dear Weston High School Families,

I hope you are enjoying the long Memorial Day weekend and finding time to rest and reflect as we honor those who have made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country.

School Climate Survey - Parents/Guardians Please Take This!

As we did in the fall we are again surveying families to get your feedback on our schools. Please follow the link here to take the survey. It is important that we get your feedback to help us prepare for our work moving forward. The survey will close May 30th.

Cell Phones

We held our first Cell Phone Free Friday this past week. I am always so impressed by the grace with which our students navigate change. Even in moments when students were asked to surrender their phone, we were able to have productive conversations and take feedback. Again, on these days we are merely asking students to have their cell phones away for the day: at home, in their backpack, or left in their car. Our hope is to create a school day free from SnapChat & TikTok notifications, free from unwanted distractions, and safe in knowing that photos and videos are not being taken.

Final Exams and End-of-Year Planning
We are in the home stretch, and students should begin reviewing exam schedules and preparing for final assessments. We have released our finals schedule after taking feedback from our new midterm schedule this year. Please print this out and post in a prominent place in your home. FINALS SCHEDULE

  • We have adjusted our review days (June 6 & 11) to include a half day of classes followed by what we call FLEX time, where students can schedule themselves into extra help with their teachers in the specific classes they need more targeted help in.

  • Buses will run at 11:45am during the review days and final exam days.

  • Students may also take the bus home at 2:30 on the review days or finals days as the middle school buses continue to run.

  • Please be aware that the last couple of days of school the middle school has early dismissals.

  • Limited lunch options will be served on the review days. Lunch is not served on final exam days.

  • We encourage students to stay in school for Flex Time and get extra help from their teachers.
