I hope you had a chance to see our Company production of The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. I laughed and then I cried. It was just so good and so well cast. Thank you to Mrs. Morris, Mr. Anderson, Ms. Winant, and Mr. Ullman in the pit and all of the supporters of our productions. It’s been such a fun weekend and our students shined! This is just what we needed! Thank you to all of the teachers who volunteered to be guest spellers: Mr. Walker, Ms. Swezey, Ms. Roehl, Mr. Richetelli, Mr. Filip, Ms. Balouskus, and Mr. Long.
This past week I visited Wilton High School with a group of students, teachers, and parents. As you may know Wilton High School instituted a phone free school this year. We spoke with members of the school community: students, teachers, administrators and parents. It was so nice to see a school community free of cell phones and notice the difference in the hallways. Our goal is to find the best way to help students focus during the day and remedy the constant distractions that invade their educational and social experience in high school. More discussions to come…
9th Grade Field Trip - This Tuesday
Our 9th graders will be heading to the Peabody Museum on Tuesday, April 1st for a joint science and social studies experience. Students will need to bring their own lunch.
Model UN Club
Last weekend, Bruce Matos, Gabriella Ligman, and Winston Revzon attended the Global Citizens Model United Nations Conference in NYC. They participated in simulation committees in which they debated complex issues facing our world today. It was an enriching and encouraging experience with thousands of young leaders!
Weston Robotics Update
Emily Arias, Joshua Miranda, Cooper Schleef and Angela Zhao have been working hard preparing for their World Championship Judging Interview. They conducted the interview remotely this past week in the Robotics Lab at the middle school. Three judges from across the world interviewed them for 15 minutes. They had that limited time to convey the best design, programming, building, game strategy and teamwork ideas from an entire season. They did so well! We will find out the results in Dallas TX May 5-9 at the World Championships. There, if they scored high enough on their interviews, they will earn a second interview, which would be conducted in-person. Way to go Team W! Weston is so proud of you!
Finals Schedule June 2025
We have released our finals schedule after taking feedback from our new midterm schedule this year. We have adjusted our review days to include a half day review experience for students, followed by what we call FLEX time, where students can schedule themselves into extra help with their teachers in the specific classes they need more targeted help in. Buses will run at 11:45am during the review days and final exam days. Students may also take the bus home at 2:30 on the review days or finals days as the middle school buses continue to run. Please be aware that the last couple of days of school the middle school has early dismissals.

March is Music in our Schools Month
For 40 years, March has been designated by the National Association for Music Education (NAfME) as Music In Our Schools Month® (MIOSM®). The positive impact of music education in the lives of students lasts a lifetime. Therefore, ensuring equitable access to music education for the youngest members of our society—students—is paramount.
Every day, in classrooms and rehearsal rooms across our school district, music educators dedicate themselves to reaching all students with life-changing musical experiences. Parents, administrators, and the wider community often only see the wonderful results of music performances; however, we miss the months of practice and rehearsals and more importantly the learning process that takes place to make it all happen.
Throughout the month of March, our schools will celebrate our exceptional music program with building-wide activities and in-school performances featuring student musicians. We encourage members of our community to acknowledge and celebrate music education as an essential part of every student’s educational journey!
At Weston High School, Music in Our Schools month kicks off with a Music Department trip to the Disney Imagination Campus for workshops and performances! Tri-M Music Honor Society members have organized Lobby Concerts, a school-wide Music Poster Display featuring diversity in music and a special Music Kahoot during PACT! Join us for the school musical, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, the weekend of March 28th! Get your tickets at www.whscompany.com! Please see the link HERE for more on MIOSM across the district.
This week, a group of musicians, pictured here, performed selections from Moana.

Important Reminder!
A reminder about the delivery policy (taken directly from the student handbook). To reduce the number of visitors on our campus and ensure the safety of our students and staff, deliveries of any kind must be directly related to school business and approved by the building administration. Food deliveries will not be permitted on the Weston Public Schools campus. Failure to comply with this expectation will result in confiscation of the delivered item(s) and a 1-hour detention. Weston High School food services provide healthy, nutritious, and delicious lunch and morning snack options. We kindly ask our families to refrain from sending food and beverage deliveries to our students during the day.
Pickup & Dropoff
A reminder to please continue to use the access road for picking up and dropping off students. We also must keep the fire lanes clear on each side of the crosswalk, especially at the end of the day, with so many students pouring out of the building. We want to make sure we aren’t inhibiting anyone’s line of sight, especially our security guards, as they man the crosswalk. In addition, please make sure you do not use any parking lots to drop off students. I have recently received some feedback that parents are parking in student parking spots while dropping off their students. Please understand that this creates a lot of confusion in the parking lot AND makes the student whose space you park in late! Thank you to all who support our students' safe entrance and exit.
Communication Protocol
Please remember we have a Communication Protocol to help you navigate the common occurrences in the daily lives of students, families, and staff. For many of your concerns, this protocol will let you know how to proceed.
